Date Posted: January 4, 2008
Location:
 Ocqueoc River Pathway
Snow Depth:
 12-18 inches on the ground
Trail Conditions:
The trails are not being groomed and the parking lot is not being plowed. Unless you have a 4 wheel drive vehicle, park along the road! The front loop of the pathway is being skied heavily and the only downed trees are on the back loops. This is a very beautiful area and therefore, despite the lack of grooming, people are coming out here and skiing anyway. Get out and enjoy before the upcoming thaw.
NE MI Snowfall Summary:
All of Northern Michigan received an average of six inches of heavy wet snow last weekend with several inches of lake affect snow in this area in recent days. The long term forecast is for a disastrous thaw as early as Saturday, 1/5.

Date Posted: February 22, 2008
Location:
 Presque Isle Harbor region
Snow Depth:
 Up to two feet
Trail Conditions:
There is plenty of snow for skiing in Thompson Harbor State Park. Snowmobile usage has been limited at this time. Expect massive snow drifts near the lake shore which has been enhanced by a now frozen lake. Best access is probably from Old State Road.
NE MI Snowfall Summary:
The area received 4 inches of powder snow this week. The temperature never got above 36 degrees during the ice and rain storm last Sunday and this area as well as most of Presque Isle County has received far more snowfall this winter than points south.
